The official Star Wars YouTube channel has posted a new trailer for Star Wars Rebels.

The series is set to premiere on Disney XD this October following a one-hour telecast on Disney Channel.

Very good. There are a few clunky bits still, as most trailers would have, but this feels like it’s really going somewhere and saying something, it looks good and it’s carving out a new visual language that seems to flow well.

I’m most impressed by this trailer. The shot of the TIE Pilot with the moving shadows and the design of the landspeeder flying towards Ezra were right out of the OT. The wide shots of the Lothal city and the Ghost flying through the clouds were gorgeous. This is definitely a more “animated”-looking show than TCW, but still feels like it’s in the same family.

Interesting that the trailer didn’t mention the Disney channel premiere. I’m assuming more details will come out at SDCC.
