First Look at Hasbro’s 5POA Kylo Ren Figure, Captain Phasma Carded – UPDATED
Ever wonder what the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens Hasbro 5 points of articulation Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma figures looks like? They look like this. Anyway, these first looks at the Hasbro TFA line showed up on ebay this morning and sold for a hundred bucks and more despite hitting shelves nationwide in 3 weeks for $7.50, someone’s got a bad case of the “firsts”. But we all get a nice look at what to expect, as well as that seller’s broiler.
UPDATE: Another of this seller’s auctions shows the Kylo Ren cardback as well as the Captain Phasma carded figure, front and back, which sold for $125. Images below, and the card back reveals how the combining accessories are laid out, a co-sell for an upcoming 5POA Luke Bespin, and text reveals of the bios:
Kylo Ren – A dark warrior strong with the Force, Kylo Ren commands First Order missions with a temper as fiery as his unconventional lightsaber.
Captain Phasma – Clad in distinctive metallic armor, Captain Phasma commands the First Order’s legions of troopers.
Also, under the image in the bubble of the combined weapon, a small Aurebesh text reads “combine forest gear”.
The buyer even has to pay $10 for the shipping, which itself also costs more than the actual figure, which will come September 4th when all this stuff hits shelves. Also, because the price of 5POA figures is going up, they threw in a combining accessory – is it canon now that everything’s canon? Probably not. And how many Kylo Rens are on that card? You have the character image, the figure, and the corner image that will be on all the figures – that’s a lot of Kylo Rens!

I’m sort of in love with this card design! Nice big character art with an offset bubble is where it’s at. I bet the green mist at the bottom denotes this as a “jungle” figure, as this seems to be part of the desert/snow/space/jungle line, which includes build-a-weapons. The multiple Kylos remind me of similar Maul situations.
The figure itself looks pretty sweet, even if it is 5POA. I can’t tell if his cape is a separate piece or what. Hopefully those whispers of The Black Series still come true so we can get higher quality versions too.
Card back art has also leaked, and Captain Phasma and ESB Bespin Luke are part of this build-a-weapon wave. I guess this means there will be Saga Legends and Mission Series repackaged required to get the weapons? If so, that kinda sucks.

I think you’re right that these are “Jungle” figures and the card bottom color is part of that, why else would the extra accessories have green on them? EDIT: Well, the aurebesh under the bubble image reads “combine forest gear”, so that’s confusing.
The quad-language text on the back is like a wall of characters.
Insane, can’t believe they got out this early. Not looking too closely because I want to be surprised. 🙂
