Administration putting money into flawed abstinence programs

I hate these propaganda programs that some recent administrations have been embracing the last 20 years, first with the disasterously-simplistic “Just Say No” program which gives kids absolutely no tools to counter the assault of illegal drugs that spawned program after program that used lies and incorrect info to try to scare kids away from drugs, and now almost $200 million to programs that get the facts wrong and use cheap fear-tactics. I believe that when you lie to kids, use fear-tactic propaganda, and overstate the threat of something, once they find out you were overstating it, they not only don’t trust you, but they sometimes swing back the other way – this is commonly seen with Catholic school children I’ve known who end up like a pendulum, swung hard away from real life until swinging hard into drugs or sex in their late teens.
Also, I really don’t care for this blending of church & state on this, we have that separation in the constitution for a good reason, the fed giving money to churches to basically let them proselytize while telling kids how evil and naughty sexuality is wrong.
