Disney’s Gargoyles Season 1 DVD – 12/7!!
I’ve been waiting for this one for ages, ever since it was first rumored. I loved this show back when it was brand new. Still occassionally catch it on the Disney Channel since it’s still running in reruns. It was one of the few more adult cartoons back in the 90’s, along with Batman: The Animated Series. In fact, I think I liked Gargoyles more, due to the more fantastical elements of the story. The set will contain the first 13 episodes, hopefully totally uncut, especially in the case of ‘Deadly Force’. Since other then the first airing, it has always been edited for broadcast to remove and zoom shots of Elisa laying in a pool of blood. Rumors indicate that we’ll likely see audio commentary and footage from ‘The Gathering of the Gargoyles’ Convention. News from TVShowsonDVD.com.

Posted by David Lambert – 8/07/2004Gargoyles Creator/Producer Greg Weisman has revealed the street date and price for the Season 1 DVD. He did so yesterday at the opening of The Gathering of the Gargoyles, a convention of fans being held this weekend in Montreal. We told you last June about this convention: this is the one where fans have the opportunity to be recorded and possibly be included as an extra on this DVD release!
The Gargoyles News Central website is reporting day-by-day happenings at The Gathering, and they are very pleased to bring you this bit of news about the DVD:
Gargoyles DVD release date set
At the opening ceremonies of The Gathering, Greg Weisman announced that the Gargoyles two-disc DVD set will be released on December 7, 2004 for $29.99. More details will be posted soon.
Nice! Disney/Buena Vista hasn’t posted this to their schedule yet, but then again they are still making announcements for October offerings. So it may be more than a month before we have official details from the studio. Still, Weisman is obviously a creditable source for this, and we’ll attentively listen to what else he says on the subject, both at the convention and also at his “Ask Greg” website afterward.
Thanks to the guys at Gargoyles News Central for the news, and to our friends at ToonZone.net for relaying the word! Stay tuned for more, okay?
