Jedi Vs. Sith (spoiler – but it’s speculation)
First off, how are you guys liking this series?
I want to know why every JEDI is also referred to as a Lord. It would be cool if they explained that – such as young Jedi were encouraged to keep ranks and not just join the Sith so they could receive a title. Or better yet, more of the Jedi went over to the Dark Side during the 1000 Years War, and some realized it was wrong, and the Army of Light was born out of the Army of Darkness ( a reverse twist), but the Sith who knew they’d went wrong turned back, but those like Lord Hoth, kept their former Sith titles. It’s all very interesting. Or rather it COULD be.
Remember, according to info from Dark Forces (video games and graphic novels, the Sith turned 1000s of Jedi and took over an Empire within the Republic (just not as large as Palpatine’s). This comic takes place in the very last days of a war that started in what was ancient times to even Darth Bane, Githany, Lord Kaan and all the others fighting in it now.
Anyway, is it hard for you guys to identify or like any specific characters? I have sympathy for Rain and the Bouncers, but they are hard to understand (they’re so different). But it’s got that ‘Save the Whales feeling’ to it. I also liked General Charny, but Tomcat took care of that. Githany’s hot, but now she’s not interacting with Bane and Kaan. They had some cool duplicity going there, and I thought she’d be the one who tries to become Bane’s apprentice in the end.
Now I think it’s going to be Rain that becomes Bane’s first apprentice in a surprising plot twist. At least I think it was she who used the Dark Side of the Force to kill those two Jedi that shot (the Bouncer) Laas. It’s a good twist, but let’s hope they don’t waste Githany’s character.
Overall, this is not the greatest comic, but certain elements have a very strong appeal. But Lord Farfalla and his elves on the Viking Ship kind of bug, and now if Tomcat and ‘the real Bug’ sort of duel it out and kill each other, who would care? Originally you thought one of them would predictably ‘go Sith,’ and Tomcat did, but they’re really unimportant and Tomcat with Githany isn’t really interesting, because her strength is in interacting with the other adult Sith characters – not a kid.
What do you think?
