  Once I get my home computer runnin, I’ll be able to post these reviews a little more timely…anyway, big ol’ numbers 6-7-and-8 for 2005 are great figures and if minor characters like this “on the screen for a second” one keep getting the royal treatment, the next few years should have some positively GREAT figures.

  Packaging- Top notch. The black card with starfield scheme with Cantina background is the same for all 3 figures and just examine it when you finally get one. THIS is how figures should look on the card. They all look like they’re ready to be put into a Cantina Diorama. I sincerely hope this packaging comes back after ROTS in 2006….I am NOT a carded collector, but boy, for those of you who are, how about it? Great carded line…OTC/VOTC/POTC…or what?

  All the figures come with the stand….nice to have if you aren’t putting your figures into a Cantina setting….helps ’em not tip over from too much Romulan ale:stupid: . And, yes, they all come with the little “flyer” catalog in the package bottom, sadly, no new flyer info, same thing from the OTC line…:neutral: .

  And yes, the figures….

  Feltipern Trevagg- Biggest shock for me is the amount of detail ALL OVER the figure. Ball jointed knees that really well designed, sturdy neutral stance, BALL PEGGED head. Totally unneeded for a character that is pretty much static in the Cantina pose-wise, but a real nice touch. Ya know, I can remember ranting in 2000 about how EVERY figure should have ball-swivel heads, a lotta joints, and articulation that makes sense and works. Well, here it is. Sort of.
  Felt’s right “paw” looks a little goofy when you raise it with the gun in a “firing pose”, but still, three joints on the entire right arm is still a REAL good show.
  Here’s the shock: take off that clear rubber band-thing holding the gun in place. Go ahead….shock….you don’t need it, this time! For REAL. Hasbro finally listened to our DEAR HASBRO rants and notched the inside of the “paw” so the gun stays put. Nice touch. The red cup is well held in paw, left.
  The overall color scheme and paint job is top notch. Nice boots. I’m just…real impressed. #6 is a winner, folks.

  Myo- This makes me feel that by looking at him, Lucas had a little Harryhausen on his mind when it came to some alien designs.
  This is pretty much the same review as above, however, a few minor changes are present. This guy gets a holster, unlike Felt. Myo’s head joint works much better due to the different sculpt, less “fur” blocking movement. Myo’s blaster is loose in hand, but will stay. Great joint articulation all over, nice blue cup, etc, etc….#7 is another winner!

  Dannik Jerriko- This WILL make my top 10 for 2004 figure wise, unless I get the Ep3 Sneak Peaks early….absolute blast of a figure.
  I used tweezers to plug the pipe stem into his head. No silver paint came off so it’s safe to due. Same thing with those pink tendrils. Pull em out, and Jerriko looks even weirder holes abcessed into his head(It is a he, right?:speech: )
  I would’ve preferred ball jointed articulation in the arms, but the new swivel style is what Hasbro is using on everything, so fine. One has to play around a bit to get a natural pose with the pipe, but it can be done.
  I am BLOWN AWAY by the fact that the pipe’s urn can fit into the thing on his right side. It’s close enough to be flush against the body and is a first for a SW character. The blaster is well-held here, actually in both hands, and fits snug and well in the holster. REALLY NICE knee joints here, so smooth they’re crisp. #8 is GREAT.

  Rolling Stone style-ratings, then:

  Felt- 4 1/2 stars.
  Myo- 4 1/2 stars.
  Vampire. Is. Jerriko.- 5 stars, figure of the year candidate.

  I’m NOT gonna gladhandle every figure. Felt looks goofy in a stick em up this is a robbery firing pose and for all it’s…:rolleyes: technical innovation, Myo is a loose handler of firearms.

  All in all, though, a great wave.
  Now, for all my complaining, I went ahead and bought a case off of Bryan’s. And, yes, if you work at Bryan’s and are reading this, you can probably figure out just who Darth Alex is from looking at invoices. Anyway, Bryan’s, good job on this wave. They came to $10-a-pop plus shipping, and I can live with that now that I don’t have to hunt em down. Oh, and Bryans, while I won’t take back all my griping about yer price gouging in 2004, nice to see that you have lowered a lot of new prices. Good job.

  One final comment from the soap-box:
  This wave is PERFECT for showcasing how good the figures are and how messed up the toy industry is right. NOW.
  I still can’t find 3 of the OTC figures and about 7 newer ones(OTC) at all. I have not seen these 3 Cantina Aliens nor all of the 1st 5 POTC on shelves yet. I also don’t believe this transitional wave will be easy to find. That, my friends, is pathetic. SW interest is just gonna build as 05 rolls around. I’m happy to have these figures, but it is just plain weird to have all NINE of the “new and redone” 2005 figures without finding all the OTC stuff. Just weird, just wrong.
  And while I don’t consider the UMPTHTEEENTHISH re-issue of Han and Chewie in the case I bought, I will review the Sandtrooper soon. I got one in the case and I want to sit down and compare it to the other Sandtroopers I have.
