New Forum Thread Request
Every once in a while, I’ll happen upon a post where someone let’s the rest of us know that they are looking for something specific. Like everyone else, if I don’t have any immediate information, I’ll skip the post and forget about it.
Today, I happened upon an item for sale on EBay that I remember somebody asking for in the past day or so (the Episode I Royal Starship). I wanted to let that member know about it, but for the life of me, I don’t remember who it was or which thread that request was in.
To help alleviate the problem of special requests from people, as everyone has one or two or twenty and keeping track of them would be nearly impossible, I propose solving the problem from the other side of the coin.
Could we have an “Interesting Items for Sale Right Now” thread, perhaps under the Toy or Misc sections. That way, if someone runs across an item of special significance on Ebay or whereever, like a rare vintage figure or a hard to find or discontinued item, then it could be posted there. That way collectors could just subscribe to that thread and keep an eye on the newest finds from across the globe instead of continually asking for items in vain.
For instance, a typical post might look like this:
Item: STAR WARS EPISODE 1 ROYAL STARSHIP MISB !!!..
Where: Ebay
URL (if applicable): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1740257529
Auction completes on: Jun-18-02 09:12:45 PDTOr this:
Item: Complete Deck of TPM Widevision Trading Cards
Where: My local comic book shop (fill in name of shop here)
Contact info: (put phone number here)Or this:
Item: Bloody Hand Luke
Where: Ebay
URL (if applicable):etc etc.
Any personal items shouldn’t be allowed here. Only items available through official auction sites or “scalper stores” should be permitted. All other personal trading attempts should be deleted or moved to the trade/buy/sell area immediately. Think of it like a “Just Found” thread but on a global all-access level.
Thanks!
