I wasn’t intending them to become the b***h-fests they turned into.Deoxy seems P**SED for some reason, and I’m not sure if anyone is thinking that way. I just wanted to let you know I’m not, since I started the threads in question.
No worries Chux. It seems the threads you started were simple enough in request as to who was not buying.
For my part, I felt the need to interject as a person who is buying Just a balance thing I guess. No worries.
Beleive me though, I was SO tempted to go off on Deoxy, but I felt it was wiser to take the more mature approach and for the most part ignore her comments.
I won’t put words in her mouth, however I get the feeling she was just tired of me posting how excited I was about these two toys and how many I am buying that she felt my comments weren’t welcomed in those two threads. Again, that’s just a guess though. Whatever the reason, I just brushed it aside and made the new threads to give everyone equal opportunity to voice opinion without the thread being slanted. At least that was my hopes in starting the new thread. Hopefully they won’t turn into something negative either.

So as can be seen I based closing those two other threads at the behest of the author of those threads as well as the suggestion of another respected member (Big Barada) to make a poll-though unofficial as it were. Perhaps it would have been better to have asked KH to do that, but ultimately (if I see it correctly) he merged all three threads anyway, so no worries.
My comments about “prequel haters” and “OT purists” were not meant to be name calling. There are those on this very board who will say or have said they are one or the other or both. I was only repeating some of the very labels some have self imposed on themselves and did not consider it name calling. Those comments were certainly taken out of context as I also included quite deliberately that I understand there are those who based on limited space or expense would not but one or the other or both.
Yes, I’m concerned for all the no’s on the boards. But not so much those who site space or expense as those are completely legitimate reasons. Yes, I live in the real world and don’t expect everyone to like everything. But one can hope can’t one? Or is that not allowed either? I asked for those who weren’t getting either to just tame it down a bit. Indeed because not only are you raining on the parade of others who have campaigned for so long to get these, but it does diminish the chances of other large items.
Yes they are toys and I won’t apologize for being excited about them. I read on another message board a post some like this (not my comments either):
to see people whining about the price, saying it’s too big, too small, etc., is pretty irritating. If collectors aren’t happy with this, they’ll never be happy and quite frankly I don’t know why they even collect this stuff.Again those are not my comments. But I do agree with them and yet can simultaneously respect the opposing positions of others based on those same things.
Truly if you don’t like the design of the vehicle (not the toy specifically, but the movie vehicle), then you were never going to buy the AT-TE anyway, regardless of who well it may or may not have turned out.
It would be nice (but again unrealistic) if people would judge this based on the TOYS that they are. They are both GREAT toys. Yes, undoubtedly some people will find fault with them. There will never be a perfect anything for everyone. That goes beyond SW collecting as well. So it’s the nature of the beast so to speak that these wouldn’t be liked at some level. I came to accept that notion some time ago. However it seemed to me that the no’s were getting a bit lopsided and I wanted to interject my comments about wanting to get the toys. However they were read or “misread,” is up to one’s own interpretation.
Again, I never meant harm. Though there was one post that I may have chided someone into responding and for that I’ll apologize.
I won’t respond to this thread any further no matter how negative the posts are towards me.
Remember that we all sign the TOS when joining this forum. I don’t ask that you respect me, rather respect that for which we all on this board are held accountable to.
I’ll admit I’ve made mistakes on these boards in the past both as a forumite and as a mod. Will anyone else care to make the same admission and we can get past this point of contention and move on the the better parts of collecting Star Wars?
