Those “Special Delivery” Video Shorts on MySpace
Do you guys think those videos are funny? They all seem to be linked to a Cheetos corn snacks ad campaign. Though I think “Special Delivery” could sell to another sponsor later on down the road.
I don’t think they are terribly funny for the most part. Probably because of their corporate sponsor, they don’t go far enough.
I just watched the one with the guy with 2 broken arms and the delivery girl having to assist him. He was suggestive that he was going to use a step ladder to access the kitchen sink as his toilet. It could have been funnier if he actually went so far as to have the delivery girl start to assist him, but not far enough that they’d have to “x-rate” the video. He also could have made the sounds of blissful pleasure when she had to reach into his pocket for his delivery money.
The best 2 Special Delivery videos included the one where the guy shows up to find a girl has kept this guy she was presumably dating in a cat costume and wearing a remote controlled shock collar. That was funny!
The other one was the Midget Stripper hired to entertain a pug dog on its birthday. It was so weird it was a curiousity to say the least.
I’m sure there are other people out there who take the concept of the hidden-camera practical joke a lot further. Potentially x-rated scenes as well as clips of delivery drivers becoming the victims of homicides would be much more entertaining.
In fact, I can’t remember the last time I ordered pizza just so I could kill the delivery guy. Automatic weapons took a lot of the sport out of shooting the paperboy on his bicycle during his morning delivery route. The real challenge there is to make the kill with a single-action rifle during a time where there’s thick fog.
A great one would be to have bloody mannequins, or better yet, wax figures that look real, a scream soundtrack, and a chainsaw, then answer the door for a delivery guy and invite them in while doing your best to look wide-eyed and insane (I do this very well).
If you could do a hidden camera in a men’s room, having a ton of orgy noises followed by multiple dudes leaving a stall like how a ton of clowns climb out of a tiny Volkswagon in the circus, might terribly shock and scare someone. But cameras in a restroom are such a no-no. That’d be hard to set up.
These could be faked for the fun of watching them, but it is more funny the more spontaneous you can make them.
