• What is morality in America? Commandment 5 of 10: keeping the Sabbath Holy

  Here’s one just about everyone fails in America.

  Jews: follow the lunar calendar and believe the Sabbath is Saturday. Thanks in part to them, we get 2-day weekends.

  Christians: follow the solar calendar and believe the Sabbath is Sunday. Thanks for the other part to them, we get 2-day weekends.

  Muslems: I don’t know which day is the Muslim Sabbath. Sunday I think.

  The day probably doesn’t matter so much to God, as long as you choose one, don’t labor or pursue personal ambitions, but honor him instead.

  That could mean by having a family day (honoring mother and father, the next commandment, etc). Going to church and praying.

  You don’t have to go to church to pray though.

  I think a lot of people go to church:

  a) to socialize
  b) to prove to everyone else that they are Christian (substitute Jewish or Muslem here)
  c) because the church can organize community service for likeminded Samaritans
  d) the church can provide a leader with directions for interpretting the Bible
  e) the church can provide an atmosphere to influence young family members

  However USA:

  1) Stores are open. ALL OF YOU ARE BUYING SW FIGURES

  2) people are working

  3) people say they are Christians, but don’t know what it really means to honor God and love thy neighbor – instead they attend organized lectures on what kinds of people to discriminate against through legal means.

  Mormons don’t allow dancing or eating certain kinds of food (I think) on Sundays, and more things, supposedly to honor God.

  I think God was trying to say do stuff that’s good for others, your family, and rest yourself – don’t be forced to labor, and don’t act self-centered at least one day of the week – do something for somebody else.

  Irony of ironies: if the Mormons held a charity fund-raiser dance to fight cancer on a Sunday, God would like it.

  If an orthodox Jew built his child a tree house on a Saturday, God would like it.

  People don’t know what the heck the laws were designed for and don’t have enough reasoning skills to think them through.
