• What kind of Earth-Pets would the Star Wars Characters Have?

  This is just “one of THOSE kinds of threads…”

  OK, if basically the Earth Pets we are talking about are:

  cats
  dogs
  horses
  fish
  snakes
  lizards
  tarantulas
  hamsters
  birds
  pigs
  monkeys
  frogs
  turtles

  and “No Pets Allowed”

  what kinds of pets would each of the main characters choose?

  No Pets:

  I think Princess Leia would never bother with an animal. I just get the sense that she’d be just too busy to be bothered. An aquarium would be the furthest she’d ever go, but I doubt it.

  cat lovers:

  I think Palpatine would look like Dr. Evil with a cat, especially a Siamese or any kind of shaved one…

  Chewbacca would like a little kitty-kat to take care of. It’d look kind of like CoCo the Gorilla with her pet, but I bet he’d go for a kitten and raise it, too.

  Old Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi is also a lap-cat kind of guy. He’d like an older cat, less than a crazy kitten, but he’d see amusement in the younger animal as well.

  Mace Windu would also like a quiet cat.

  dog lovers:

  I think Han Solo would be a dog person. He’d land the Falcon, find a twig, and go and play fetch with his terrier or retriever. The dog would fulfill the master-pet relationship he could never have with the stubborn and independent-minded Chewbacca.

  Jango Fett would also like a dog. He’d train it as a tracker no doubt. But he’d also find some amusement with it being a pal to his son, Boba.

  Boba Fett would equally be a dog person for the same reasons as his father. They’re clones afterall.

  horseback riders:

  I think Luke Skywalker would love a pet horse to ride around the desert (or Hoth) with. He’d scratch it’s neck and ask “Do you smell something girl?”

  I think Shmi Skywalker would appreciate the practicality of a horse. So that makes 2 Skywalkers who would be equestrians.

  Fish

  Lando Calrissian would have some kind of huge or elaborate aquarium. He’s just the type of guy to make a display out of something like that. It’d be impressive with expensive fish.

  JarJar would also keep an aquarium, but he’d keep things he could eat in it. Pretty disgusting. I wouldn’t want to visit him when he’s hungry – especially if he didn’t regularly clean the water.

  Yoda – as much as he had snakes around him on Dagobah, I see Yoda as patiently tending an aquarium to be the height of his day.

  monkeys

  Qui-Gon Jinn would no doubt enjoy having a pet monkey to no end. It’d remind him of having JarJar around. The monkey would get into everything and Qui-Gon would find this amusing to no end.

  Birds

  I think Count Dooku would meditate to bird songs and be impressed with a returning falcon’s flying power. He’d like birds in cages, and those which are not.

  R2D2 would also like birds, as he’d whistle back to them.

  C-3PO would no doubt spend hours trying to translate bird songs and be entertained as well. Birds would be easy pets for droids to take care of.

  Hamsters

  Padme would be a hamster-girl. She’d no doubt be reminded of the Senate by a hamster spinning its wheel around in circles. She’d like to let it crawl around on her and smile at it too.

  Snakes I think Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader would find feeding a snake and watching it strike live food very thought-provoking. He’d philosopize about life and death and the order of the universe as the snake wolfed down its prey.

  What do you think about all this?
