This season starts and all 3 L&O shows are screwed up.

First, the timeslot change, now L&O Criminal Intent and L&O SVU are on back to back Tuesday – it’s too much Law & Order for one night! Plus, CI is a way different feeling from The Rape Show, it’s no fun going from one to the other. And NBC moved the original L&O – one of their flagship shows for the past 15 years – on the Friday night death slot, and the show that’s replaced it immediately tanked.

Then there’s the casting issues, each series has at least 1 new character. Law & Order CI gets a new captain and it’s a character actor who often plays tormented druggies, he feels totally off with the rest of the cast and not believable as captain of the major case squad. Then, after adding Chris Noth last season in half the episodes, the actress who played his partner gets swapped out for some new younger girl who is way unbelievable as a cop because she’s such a lightweight on-screen and she looks like a teenager.

Law & Order SVU has to swap out star Mariska Hargitay while she’s pregnant for some Danish actress who looks like a model more than a cop, has a weird accent (not quite here or there) and just doesn’t feel like someone who would be in this squad (they’ve used that in the stories she’s been in so far, but it’s still not likely she’d be put there in the first place).

And regular ol’ Law & Order has 2 new pieces of casting, one of the main detectives from last season left after just 1 season, replacing him with a very yount-looking girl who definitely feels out of place as a cop, much less a detective. But worse is the latest assistant district attorney, after killing off the blond girl from last season, they bring in this generic brunette who looks like she’s working hard to be a supermodel, it’s totally ridiculous, and she’s not a particularly good actress here either, seems like the ADA role has been getting weaker and weaker since Jill Hennessy left 10 years ago.

Seems like these shows are all the legacy shows NBC has left and they’re working hard to bury them, which is too bad.
