I am about a 1/3 through the Widevision SW series book; since I have very few of these cards, it's like seeing them for the first time (which it is), out of the wrapper.

I was in Wal*Mart the other day, and I saw a weird box of SW cards. Apparently they have a mix of old series (TFA, R1, JtTFA, etc.) for around $20. Hmm.

The WV cards were one of the reasons I got back into collecting SW trading cards. Great cards.

I bought a copy of the book at Celebration, and spoke with the author. The author told me there was debate on whether or not to include the SE set of cards in the book. It's a great book. I believe ESB and ROTJ editions are planned.

I saw online about this box. The box also includes those funky pog/discs that WM carried. Out of curiosity, I might pick up a box.

I bought one of these boxes today out of curiosity. $14.99.

There were 10 packs in the box. I got 4 packs of the discs, two packs of TFA cards, one pack of Journey to TFA, 2 packs of Clone Wars season 2 cards and one pack of Galaxy 5 (from 2010!) cards.

No autos.

More sets for 2020 (didn't start a new thread for each year, just adding on to this one)…

Women of SW (100-card set with inserts) is already out (hobby shops)
Chrome Perspectives (100-card, inserts) is due in August (hobby)
Holocron Series (200-card base, inserts) is due out in September (hobby).

All have the ubiquitous parallels, too; didn't notice any sticker inserts though.

I already won and RECEIVED (that's some fast mailing!) a complete set of the Women of Star Wars cards: there are 100 different characters from movies, cartoons, and video games (I even got a purple gold-numbered parallel as that particular card). The images are cool, with a good variety of chars., and the card backs are informative for a change. I am seeking good deals on some of the inserts: Journey of Leia, Weapon of Choice (both 8-card sets), or Powerful Pairs (24-cards).

2021 has violence in the stores... Target and Wal*Mart are removing Pokemon and sports trading cards due to people gettin' angry about 'em. I hope that anger is not for SW cards, too! (not that it's really easy to find SW cards in those stores)

I discovered that a SW Battle Plans set was due out this year: 100 base-card set, some insert sets. I found a good deal on the base, plus a couple dozen insert cards; and I can report on them after they arrive.

Update: the Battle Plans set arrived. It's okay: a nice recap of several significant battles in the films (and cartoons; didn't expect "Siege of Mandalore" cards), starting from E1 through E7 (odd that Crait and Exogol were left out; were there no plans for those battles?). A few different angle or not-commonly-seen card front photos; the backs have descriptions and very little empty space left, for a change. I got some inserts: "Galactic Adversaries" (single characters) and "Tools of Warfare" (mostly devices). New to SW? This set's for you.
