Letdown? Apparently, as turnover-riddled OSU dumped a big loss at Iowa. Wisconsin seems to be the only consistency in the BIG TenWithMoreThan10Teams. YSU rebounded with a big win at Indiana St., while Pitt was bye-ing time off.

OSU's big win on Senior Day sends them to The Game next week as the division winners (will face JJB's Wisconsin Badges [we don't need no stinkin' ones! ] the week after). Pitt got stuffed on 4th-and-goal to end the game vs. VA Tech (another Forumite's team). YSU wins big at home to end their year at 6-5, but out of the FCS playoffs.

Pitt rankles the playoffs rankings by Turnover Chain-ing the 'Canes to end an otherwise-down year. Ohio State wins, but depending on the health of QB J.T. Barrett IV, may have hurt themselves for next week's conference title game (and Coach Meyer says a cameraman hit him prior to game time?). There are now just two undefeated teams (Wisconsin and Central FL) in FBS, with 'Bama's loss.

This has to be the craziest CFB season I can remember. There's a real possibility that there will be no undefeated teams in the playoffs. There could even be a couple of two-loss teams in as well. I will be rooting for chaos next weekend.

Well, there will be no undefeated playoff teams, since I doubt Central FL will be among the four. Going in: #1 Clemson won (they're definitely in), #2 Auburn lost (I believe they are out), #3 Oklahoma won (pretty sure they're in), #4 Wisconsin lost (obviously out). Since #6 Georgia won, it's almost certain they are in, leaving one more slot (BIG10 champ Ohio State, Pac-12 Champ USC, SEC West #2 Alabama, outside longshot in 12-0 AAC champ UCF). I think the Buckeyes sneak in again as the #4 team, and revenge against #1 Clemson would be sweeter than buckeye candy. But if they don't get selected, maybe they will return to the Rose Bowl, if it's not a "playoff" bowl this year.

Ohio State hangs in there to defeat Penn State in Happy Valley. Pitt did not get any help from the refs, but they were going to lose down at Central FL. YSU was close, but a failed onside kick recovery late meant another loss.

OSU holds on at home vs. 2-conference win Nebraska (didn't there used to be a 'Huskers fan here on the boards?), Pitt handles #25 Virginia on the road, and while YSU was tied entering the 4th vs. top-ranked ND State it did not end with a victory.

It was Senior Night for Pitt (big, BIG win over VA Tech, setting a school record for yards of offense) and YSU (over No. Iowa), while OSU was on the road and handled Mich. St. If both the Panthers and Buckeyes win out, they each win their respective conference divisions and will play for their titles; YSU: well, they will play games because they're on the schedule.

Two schools I support are both now 3-0 (OSU mauls Darth Indiana by 41 on the road, YSU lightsaber handles Pittsburgh-area university Duquesne 34-14). But speaking of Pitt, the Panthers had a shot versus in-state rival Penn State (bad play calls throughout led to a heave into the end zone as time expired, losing 17-10 in not-so Happy Valley); they fall to 1-2.

A good week for "my" teams: 20th-ranked YSU wins big over Robert Morris (hey, what'd he ever do to you? ;) ) to stay undefeated. OSU shines in prime time over Nebraska; they might even move up a ranking spot. Pitt needs a 4th-quarter TD at home to outlast FCS team Delaware. Even 2nd-ranked Chaffey College (in CA junior colleges) dominates in its last game before used-to-be-Foothill-now-it's-American-Metro Conference play begins, with a 56-6 drubbing of Pasadena City College.

My fingers are crossed the Gators win against Auburn on Saturday. Auburn fans are just as annoying as Patriot fans in these parts...If I have to hear "War damn Eagle" one more time...

I have often wondered how it would be like to live in SEC country, especially during football season. Sure, other regions (Pac-12, Big T14n, Big Tw10lve, ACC, et al) have their rivalries, but those ones...

Well, YSU lost for the first time this season, on the road at N. Iowa. Ohio St.'s prime time matchup with Michigan St. was a struggle at times, but a win by the end. Now, the Pitt game was frustrating: have a 23-point lead late in the 3rd quarter, give up said lead in the 4th (after a replayed 2-pt. conversion fiasco), then march down and score the game-winning TD with under a minute; penalties were frequent, often confusing for both teams, and lots of personal fouls all over.

It is amazing. Even when you meet up with a rival in a store its always fun to jab around with them and talk football or mention how many championships your team has ;)

In related news, happy my Gators won. Auburn fans are like Pats fans in these parts and I couldn't listen to another cry of "war damn eagle" much longer. Great homecoming win but three tough games ahead that need to be won.

Gators lost to LSU, sigh.

On the bright side Georgia lost to South Carolina, which was hilarious. Certainly a mixed bag day.

OSU won its 8th straight (and 15th of the previous 16) in The Game, Pitt ended its regular season in a giving mood (4 turnovers to get Boston College to bowl eligibility), and YSU collapsed to 6-6 overall after a 4-0 start and didn't make this week's opening playoffs round. This week, the Buckeyes play Wisconsin (again) in their drive towards another National Title; that #4 team for the playoffs seems to be the true wild card, with Alabama's Iron Bowl loss and all those other 1-loss schools out there.
