Where 'text' & 'friend' are nouns
Once again, testing the post-a-picture thread: here's me (in a Star Tours-ist outfit) at this year's Star Wars Reads local event at our library.

At the next SW Reads this year, with an amazing L3 costume (the guy said he made the costume from just a Topps card image and a screen shot from the trailer a couple months ago).

Hello, it has been awhile. I have been working on losing weight. I started back in January, posting a picture of me eating a healthier meal. My brother saw the picture and decided to incentivize my weight loss, by offering $5.00 per pound of weight loss, with the money going toward my Relay for Life cancer walk. Then my dad wrote to my brother "If your brother loses 50 pounds, that will be $250.00 you will owe". My dad then matched that $5.00 per pound and my son $10.00 per pound. I have had yet others offer $1.00 per pound. As of this morning, I am down 49.5 pounds!!!!! The picture of me in my Red Hockey jersey is from January, the second is one from a week ago, and the third picture is from yesterday, after I walked, jogged 4.25 miles !!

Year 13, as the MC said at the closing ceremony, wasn't an unlucky Star Wars Day at the library. Here I am with two former Corellian scumrats who have cleaned up quite nicely! I, on the other hand, am partly like it's 1999, for the 20th anniversary of a certain Episode.

Jealous I am.

<--- pilot and never been
I just found a bookmark to the forum and to try and log back in. Sure enough my account is still here. This was my last comment before I stopped visiting the forum almost 12 years ago. I see my last comment was 2 weeks before the birth of my first kid so I guess that's what distracted me from this place. I added another kid 2 years later. I stopped collecting 12" action figures about that time but now both my boys routinely drag out the bin of them and play with them. When I started my collection it was for me and I had a whole set of shelves to display them. I never would have imagined at the time I would have let some kids get their hands on them and play. I had every plan to display them in my house but I never did and even kind of forgot about them in bins in the basement. Hard to believe I would have ever forgotten about 50-60 12" figures. I was reminded of them when my youngest got hooked on Star Wars (thanks to the Angry Birds Star Wars game). I took him down into the basement and pulled out my huge bins and went through everyone with him. That was fun.

Life sure has happened in that time too. Got older, had some health issues, had to leave my job as a result, got a bit better but had to find a different career. Seeing my last comment say I was a pilot is a strange reminder of what was and isn't now. In my profile there's a link to a website I had created which is a bit ironic for me to see as it finally disappeared from the internet a few months ago. Lost to time.

Star Wars is still going strong and probably better than its ever been. I never forced it on my boys but they found it on their own. We all love watching the new movies/shows even if a few are stinkers.

I joined the forums 19 years ago which is mind blowing. I still see a few familiar names on the boards. Having a place to go and talk about collecting and Star Wars in general was fun. Looking back, we had so few things to talk about as the franchise had really only given us the prequals where as today we have so many movies and shows. It's amazing.

I don't really know where I was going with this. Digging through my computer I found the bookmark and checking in really brought back some memories. I still can't believe it's been that long. I hope everything is going well for everyone here. Hopefully my next visit won't be in another decade.

Nice to see an old familiar name. I’ve not been too active on here the last 10 years or so, mostly just responding to threads I am already subscribed to. I still collect, but it seems like figures have been hard to find since The Black Series started. I didn’t want to start collecting the 6 inch line, though I have got the 40th Anniversary figures. I’ve still been enjoying the new movies and shows. Just got done watching The Bad Batch premiere. I’ve also been watching lots of YouTube Star Wars reactions. Seeing other people watch the movies for the first time kinda brings back the excited we had when we first saw them. I’ve also thought about starting my own channel where I could talk about Star Wars and other interests.

Ditto for a long time member but someone who has stayed away far too long from the forums.

I registered at this site when I barely turned 20. I am now in my 40s. Star Wars has not diminished in my life, but my collecting ways have.

So good to see the old familiar names still around.
