According to TMZ Live yesterday, the giant pig-nose creature is a 5-man-operated puppet that was running around, each limb with a guy inside moving it, and the head getting the last guy.

An impressive shoot, and surprising spoiler in the studio shooting shots as well. Hopefully this focus on practicals will help translate to a better movie.
