Star Wars Weekends 2015 Announced
Disney World has announced the dates for the 2015 edition of Star Wars Weekends, a popular annual intergalactic event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Stormtroopers and other characters and actors within the Star Wars universe will appear at the theme parks on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between May 15 and June 14, 2015.
The event typically includes interactions and shows with celebrities from the Star Wars films and the related animated series. Last year, for the first time, actor Mark Hamill, who rocketed to fame as Luke Skywalker with the original film triology, appeared at Hollywood Studios. The event also includes an elaborate motorcade featuring characters and creatures from the series. Familiar Disney characters also get a Star Wars makeover, such as Minnie Mouse dressed as Princess Leia.
Disney has not yet announced who will be making guest appearances at the 2015 event.
Star Wars Weekends festivities are included in regular admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Currently, a one-day ticket is $94 ($88 for ages 3-9).
