1 review for Luminara Unduli #11

  1. Rated 4 out of 5

Luminara Unduli is next in the parade of Attack of the Clones-themed Black Series figures! This is the third realistic sculpt of the Jedi and the fifth release overall – in addition to the unique movie figures, she received an animated figure and a significant repaint of her Revenge of the Sith figure in the Target exclusive Order 66 line (2008). Armed with a green-bladed lightsaber, she fits right alongside her updated Padawan Barriss Offee (The Vintage Collection, 2011).

This version of the Mirialian Jedi Master is the first to include a soft goods outer robe as seen in the films. Both the robe and skirt are longer than they need to be, so getting Luminara to stand will take some doing. Her gown in the film was big and flowing, so this is an instance where oversized soft goods isn’t that much of an issue – but you will be picking off loose threads from the fabric more than usual. Her headdress is a separate, removable piece (hey look, she has gray cornrows!), and it can be difficult to position with the bulky cloak getting in the way and enjoys falling off her head when she’s anything other than neutrally posed. Luminara’s coloring is more in line with her look from the film and TV show than previous releases, with cleanly applied chin tattoos and gold designs (which are unfortunately sloppy on my sample). Aesthetically, she’s definitely a step above the previous versions, though applying the same distressed look from the 2008 figure would have made it even better.

As with so much of The Black Series up to this point, Luminara is a resculpt nobody was asking for. But Hasbro still managed to deliver a well-sculpted, interesting figure that’s worth adding to your collection. Released with wave 2, she was also carried forward into wave 3.
